The London iPad Orchestra
The LiO creates recorded music, live performances and events incorporating cutting-edge tablet music-making technology and featuring some of the UK's most adventurous high-tech and traditional musical performers.
Central to the LiO is Mark Jenkins, music journalist (Melody Maker, New Musical Express, International Musician, Music Week), author ("Analog Synthesizers", available worldwide through Amazon) and composer, who released the world's first all-iPad CD "The iPad Album" in October 2010.
Mark Jenkins has also performed all-iPad concerts in the USA (Vanderbilt Museum, New York in 2011) and in Holland as well as performing throughout the UK and in France, Germany, Brazil and China.
Mark Jenkins has performed within the ex-BBC Radiophonic Workshop band White Noise and with members of Van Der Graaf Generator, Can and Gong including at the London South Bank Royal Festival Hall and Purcell Room, at the Astoria Theatre London, at St. John's Smith Square, the Union Chapel London and at London Olympia. Mark has also given performances of pieces by Philip Glass, Terry Riley, Mike Oldfield, Vladimir Cosma and Henry Mancini.
